Release Notes
In the new version TimePunch 5.8 – our Easter release – we have once again implemented numerous requests from our customers and added many useful features, both visible and “under the hood.”
New features – for all modules
FS#1981 – MSI installer: Start updates directly from TimePunch
From now on, the system will automatically check for new versions when you log in. If a new version is available, you can start the update directly from the respective module – without having to uninstall the previous version or download it manually. This saves time and simplifies the update process considerably.
FS#1934 – Extended audit emails for changes to time entries
Audit emails now also contain the description, project, and activity of an edited time entry. This allows changes to be traced more quickly in the right context – for greater transparency and traceability within the team.
New features in TimePunch Management
FS#1974 – Edit descriptions and additional fields in batches
Following the addition of the option to assign projects, activities, and customers to multiple time entries in previous versions, descriptions and additional fields can now also be edited in a single step. This allows all information in a time entry to be applied to multiple entries at once, making post-processing even more efficient.
FS#1990 – Intelligent name suggestion when saving reports
When saving a report, the suggested file name is now automatically derived from the content or context of the displayed data. Manual adjustment is now a thing of the past – saving time and reducing sources of error.
FS#1909 – Better overview of individual entries
The overview of individual entries now also shows days off, weekends, holidays, and weekdays without entries. This provides a complete view of all calendar days – ideal for quick checks and overviews.
FS#1968 – Visual highlighting of activities
Activities are displayed in different project colors, making it easier to distinguish between tasks within a project. This facilitates visual assignment and creates more clarity in everyday work.
FS#1970 – Automatic preselection of working days for (series) entries
When creating daily and series entries, the preselection of working days is now automatically based on the working time model of the selected person. This reduces manual entries and makes time tracking even more efficient.
New features for the attendance list
FS#1926 – New compact mode for the attendance list
The attendance list has a new compact mode that makes it easier to keep track of things, especially in larger companies. Previously, you had to scroll to see all employees, but in compact mode, all teams are visible at a glance – compact, clear, and time-saving.
New features for the calendar
FS#1930 – Flexible control of substitute rules
In the last version, the substitute's approval was mandatory for vacation approvals. In response to numerous customer requests, we have now made this rule optional: The substitute's approval can be activated or deactivated as needed – for more flexibility in practice.
